Hacken & Galka Families

John R. Hachen was born in Rüeggisberg, Switzerland, in 1868.

John's mother, Elisabeth Hachen, emigrated with him to the United States around the beginning of the 20th century.

After emigrating separately to America, John and Carolina married and lived in Saltair, Utah.

John with his first-born son, Alma.  Alma (the older brother of my father (Nephi Rudolph Hacken) died at the age of 18.

After Carolina died and John Rudolph Hachen became a widower, he married Anna Heer Hachen. This photo is from 1958, 11 years after Anna herself had become a widow.
